This is a varied climb,with finger jams (crux), stems, and a very runout 5.6/5.7 face.  It gets sun most of the day.

This is a short, overhanging face and hand crack; a fun climb with lots of sun.

Start on Lazy Rhymer then make a committing move left using positive holds just before you reach the vertical seam. Pull this move and step onto face/blocky finish of The Maritimer.

A short, crux face sequence by a bolt leads to a steep 5.10d thin crack (lieback/jam). This route is in the sun most of the day.

An initial crux overhang is fun, and leads up to some large, hollow, steep flakes (nice moves, but caution is needed).  The exit move at the top is height dependent.

Tough move off the deck into a chute with a flaring thin crack/seam. Poor protecting and chimney moves get you the top of the chute, where a thin vertical seam takes you to the top.

Roboranger starts on the right side of a big block on the northeast face of Grossvogel.

P1) Climb up the right side of the big block then traverse right across to grab the edge of the roof flake (where the block used to be). Layback up onto the roof and then continue in the crack above to a shelf system below a dihedral. Belaying here is mostly a function of rope drag.

P2) Climb the left dihedral to the top. This is the crux of the route and a bit grainy and tricky. Belay from cracks atop.

Descent: Scramble off down the slabs to the north. WARNING!!! The initial part of this descent is harder than the route you just came up! Place anchors and belay accordingly for safety!!!

This route is sort of a pile and not really worth doing. I have no idea how it seemed good enough for listing in the "Trad Guide to Joshua Tree" as there are seriously way better routes of this grade in the park. This route starts on the left side of the northeast face of Grossvogel below an elephant ear flake.

P1) Climb up tricky ground below and right of the flake, then traverse left across the flake using the crack above. Continue in a slanting crack up and right to easy ground. Belay is a function of rope drag (you can split it up if there's too much), or you can run it all the way to the top.

P2) Continue to the top from where you belayed.

Descent: Scramble off down the slabs to the north. WARNING!!! The initial part of this descent is harder than the route you just came up! Place anchors and belay accordingly for safety!!!

Begin 15 feet right of Dr. Seuss Vogel. Undercling a thin crack that diagonals up and left under a small roof until you can pull over the lip onto the slab. Move about 10 feet right, then climb the slab up the right edge of a white waterstreak, joining Dr. Seuss Vogel at the flake that curves right at the top of the first pitch.

The easiest and quickest descent is to scramble off to the south (class 4) from the top of Dr. Seuss Vogel's fist pitch.
