This short obscure pitch is surprisingly exposed and exciting. From the bolt anchor at the top of the Chimney Route, traverse right on a ledge, mantle the overhang at a bolt, then climb past one more bolt to the top.

Chongo Arete

High in Protein

Start up the wide crack and continue up this with some good face climbing on the left side when the necessary. A tricky right then left traverse protects the wide chimney and the top.

Start up the sloping rock to the arete.

Pass two breaks, where you can get small cams in the horizontals.   Passing the second horizontal to gain the arete and the 1st bolt is the technical crux.

With the 1st bolt clipped move up and find some holds on the left side of the arete which allow the 2nd bolt and easier climbing to be reached.

With little trouble move on up to the anchors.
