This enjoyable trad climb on solid brown rock begins in a very thin crack about 30' up from

This route lies just left of

Jerry Brown

and climbs a thin crack which passes along the left side of a small roof (the same one Jerry Brown climbs over) and then continues up a crack system which ends, finishing with a section of face climbing. Tricky moves with the crux coming at the end of the crack/start of the face section. Two stars out of five.

This climb follows the seam/thin crack about 10 feet to the right of the prominent roof that Jerry Brown goes over. Start off a boulder next to the wall and then commit to some very sustained crack and face climbing. The crack accepts gear, but it is thin and tricky and must be placed from difficult stances, making for a bold and strenuous lead.

Begin about 8ft right of the much better, safer, and easier route,

. Work up crux face holds to an easier crack above, merging with

Brown 25

near the top.

Almost everyone will probably just TR this thing, but if you're really psyched on leading it, the bottom does not really take good pro. Some small RPs can be placed, quite awkwardly at that as the openings tend to be where your hands are, but in reality the good gear doesn't come until high up when most of the difficulty is over. Very "R" if not "X" rated.

Step left from the block to nice holds or contrive your way up from the bottom.  Follow a thin crack with great locks on the right and a rail with big holds on the left until the rail fades.  Make an insecure move to easier climbing.  This route is very enjoyable but not as sustained or pumpy as Jerry Brown.

Tough start on creaky holds leads to easier ground.

Boulder out the opening moves then follow crack features above the right facing corner until its reasonable to cross the slab to the right (towards the sweeping finger crack in the left facing wall).

Right side corner looks pretty sparse for pro so maybe better to place gear in the crack high on the left, then cross over and hit up that sweeping finger crack for pro.

Gain troughy ledge.  Up and on the right hand side of the trough, just to the left is a nice hand crack leading to main ledge for a just-shy-of-100-foot pitch, or, continue up another 8 feet to summit of the wall (easy 4th class scramble).

A spot on the start may be prudent in case a foot or flake blows.  Take care.  Kinda sandy.

I tried toproping this decades ago so my recollection is pretty vague.  A tech crux comes on the lower part of the route which are face moves just before entering the crack.  Several moves of the crack were thin steep and pumpy.  The climb in its totality seemed fairly sustained.  Would be very sketchy to lead this.

This route is the obvious thin seam just left of

Captain Kronos

.  Stem 15 feet up the seam with a couple shallow flared finger locks to find much easier and nice climbing above.

Listed in the Vogel guide as a 5.7, many an inspired young leader has come face to face with mortality with the opening moves of this route.  The thin starting moves about 15 feet off the deck from a boulder, with somewhat tricky pro will give even steady 5.9 leaders pause.

Begin off a block slightly left of mid-formation.  After the thin entry moves, continue up the right leaning hand crack to the top.

Descend to the climbers right.
