Escape from Nowhere

Start with easy climbing up the lower rock face and the dihedral left of the sharp arete. When the dihedral runs out, look for a narrow horizontal crack with a couple finger-sized gaps that lead to a jug on the arete to the right. Traverse right to the jug, awkwardly mount the arete and follow it to the top.

Well to the right of the rest of Hidden Buttress's climbs is a left-leaning sharp arete that leans even more left near top. Unlike A Cheval at Minor Mass, climbing astride this arete doesn't work so well. Climb it on the right side using holds on the arete and right of the arete. When the arete angles more left, abandon the arete and climb straight up the upper face to the top.

 When I first saw this rock I assumed it had been climbed before, but it is not documented in the Swartling/Mayer or Knower books. If anyone has any info about previous climbs or FA's, please comment. The vines and brush around the route were cleaned up when I climbed it in Mar., 2021.

 

Climb up cracks under the left side of the overhang to a ledge. Step right and up above the overhang to finish on the upper part of Hidden Overhang.

 This is #11 in Swartling/Mayer.

Climb the face using small but plentiful holds. The entire description of this route in Swartling/Mayer (#9) is "Broken face".

Start up crack on left side of the wall, Nowhere Man.  At the ledge, step right and use an unlikely-looking series of sidepulls and crimps to get to the top. 

  The hands end up being better than they look from below, but there isn't much for the feet most of the way.

Climb the face directly under the overhang. Climb the overhang (crux) and finish on easy climbing above.

 This is #10 in Swartling/Mayer.

Climb the face left of the Pine Sap tree (which is now just a rotten stump.) Don't use the left corner.

 This is #8 in Swartling/Mayer.

Climbs shallow groove/crack to were it ends,then straight up face, crux. Variation traverses right about 5ft into cracks before the final face, then up, aka 5.9 unknown (listed as Fern Man on MP).

Up the crack of Nowhere Man to the ledge.  Then up out of the alcove and left across the ramp.

Maybe even closer to the road than Stettner's Rocks.  A quiet location with a few great lines in the 5.8-5.11 range.  A great warm up on your way up to the hard stuff at White Wall.
